tommy boy
between cfcf and the latest from bell orchestre, i'm in good shape on the instrumental front for the time being. this infectious vid for cfcf's 'you hear colours', directed by tommy boy, draws me in every time, and makes me all lonely like a long distance runner. and is that 3-d in there?

a love letter to the 80s
as much as i miss the 80s, this vid for futurecop's 'karate kids', directed by tnuc, makes me grateful i got to live through them at least once...and watch lots of movies in the process.
this also puts me over the top on seeing futurecop! the next time they come through town...even if it means going it alone.

squeeze me
a flipbook vid for squeeze me from kraak & smaak. this was directed by andre maat and superelectric. k&s are a lot of fun...and they're touring north america this month.
...and their remix of 'medicine' by mark rae is another favorite:

the very best

the very best, is. it's a collaboration between malawian esau mwamwaya and radioclit, and the tracks they've released take lots of familiar sounds (architecture in helsinki, m.i.a., vampire weekend,...) and run with them.
they've got a free mixtape coming out nov 1, with the album set for sometime early next year.
here are my two favorite tracks so far. see if you can listen without smiling.

sabali

damon albarn produced the new single by amadou & mariam, off the forthcoming 'welcome to mali'. love them, love this song...though it ends too soon.
