sigur ros @ moma



if you can't catch sigur ros this fall, here's an hour long special from their recent show at the moma. i caught it on current earlier this week and naturally it's available online. take a moment and give the icelandic national anthem a listen at 28:00. makes me wish iceland won a gold in beijing. btw, sigur ros is touring with fellow countrymen parachutes, who sound kinda familiar - which is to say kinda amazing.

a more upbeat and tribal sound from sigur ros on their new single: gobbledigook...get it for free and check out the nude video on the sigur ros site. this is another video collaboration with arni & kinski, the guys from gusgus that also directed a few other vids for sigur ros. their vids for glosoli and hoppipolla are too good not to watch if you've never seen them.

amina

i was lucky enough to see amina open for sigur ros at the paramount in oakland a few years ago. this video from icelandic television does a good job of capturing the experience.


and on the subject of sigur ros - i can't wait to see HEIMA (or to visit iceland after seeing this trailer)
